Just Different
Attorneys at Epiphany Law take a different approach, providing practical legal solutions for every aspect of your construction business
Epiphany Law, LLC doesn’t operate like your traditional law firm. Proud to be “just different,” the Wisconsin-based boutique business law firm is comprised of former “big law” and in-house counsel who provide efficient and practical legal solutions to corporate and construction industry clients throughout the state and across the nation.
Epiphany Law’s commitment to excellent, practical advice gives its clients a competitive edge. Among the many ways in which Epiphany Law strives to bring a unique approach to its practice is its legal team’s approachability and ability to truly listen to every aspect of their clients’ legal needs.
Nontraditional Approach
Providing a nontraditional approach to legal services, the attorneys at Epiphany Law don’t deliver static solutions for a singular situation, but rather empower clients with the necessary tools to make decisions to protect and enhance their business practices. To achieve these goals, the partners at Epiphany Law believe in open, honest, and frequent communication, developing mutual trust, and providing a fair and transparent fee structure, while maintaining a deep commitment to excellence in everything they do.
These unwavering principles have been the guiding force of Epiphany Law since it was founded 16 years ago. Over the years, the partnership team has grown and consists of Kevin Eismann, Katie Blom, Heather Macklin and Rob Macklin. All four partners today bring unique perspectives and backgrounds, but all have experience as nonlegal business owners, which allows them to see things from their clients’ point of view.
Specialists Who Collaborate
It is this diverse scope of legal and real-world experience that helps serve the specific needs of each client. Heather Macklin explains, “Our lawyers specialize. We aren’t generalists. We have someone who can handle, with extreme focus, any legal issue our clients might face. While a contractor might first come to us with one issue, we are here to provide ongoing services and to mitigate potential problems down the road.”
Kevin focuses on asset protection and succession planning, working with closely held businesses who are equity owners approaching retirement age, as well as other business transactions. Katie handles commercial real estate, corporate transactions, mergers and acquisitions, and nonprofit work. Rob does mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance, contracting, etc. Heather, on the other hand, is a business litigation attorney who handles commercial litigation and business disputes, including breach of contract, construction liens, partnership disputes, and intellectual property infringement. In addition, Heather is also a certified mediator and mediates business disputes. The other six attorneys at the practice each have areas of expertise, including patents and trademarks, human resources and employment law, litigation and estate planning. But what really distinguishes Epiphany Law from other firms is the collaborative approach embraced by their specialized attorneys.
Proactive Law
The team at Epiphany Law wants their clients to achieve long-term business success. One of the ways they do that is by identifying potential areas that could become problems down the road and working closely with clients to define and implement solutions to eliminate those potential conflicts.
Heather adds, “Our goal is to make sure that in the long run, our clients need less legal counsel, not more. Especially with regard to litigation, if you’re coming to me with frequent needs, there’s something wrong, and I want to get that fixed for you. It’s a distraction to your business. Our transactional attorneys have a similar perspective. We want to help get your business practices in order, to ensure that you have the right proactive approach to your legal needs.”
