Plumbing Done Right
Family-owned Rightway Plumbing & Heating takes pride in its record of safety, efficiency, and above all, always doing it the right way
Rightway Plumbing & Heating Inc. (Rightway), based out of Queens, New York, and serving all five boroughs, puts its business mantra right in its name. In fact, the company’s motto, “Have It Done Right,” is the driving force behind every decision Owner and President Bernard Watson makes, and that includes bringing on his son, Bernard Watson Jr., as Operations Manager of the longstanding, reputable service company.
The minority- and family-owned company has offered exceptional industrial, commercial and residential plumbing and heating services since 1995. With over 25 years of experience and an in-house Master Plumber, Rightway “can’t help but do it right!”
Work Well Done
Bernard is quick to point out that Rightway hires the best to ensure every project (which is predominantly for high-end buildings) is completed properly. “Your experience will be stress-free,” he says. “We regularly pass inspections and keep our clients posted about their project’s progress.” This is evidenced by Rightway’s A+ rating from the Better Business Bureau, not to mention its multiple five-star reviews.
“My philosophy is pretty simple,” Bernard says. “ ‘Have It Done Right’ is more than just words on our logo. We make sure everything is done 100%. The customer is always first when it comes to our service, and we always follow through to make sure the customer is satisfied with our work. We are one of the rare minority-owned companies that is licensed in both plumbing and sprinkler services, and with our years of experience, you can rest assured that we will get the job done right.”
Rightway specializes in all forms of plumbing and fire suppression services, including (but not limited to) new commercial, industrial and residential renovations; water and gas service installations; service calls and dispatch; local low gas inspection; and sprinkler service tests. The company is fully insured, and has in-house licenses for plumbing, sprinklers, backflow prevention and gas operations. Plus, all employees are OSHA trained and certified. “Our team always comes prepared for the job at hand, putting safety and efficiency first,” Bernard says.
Bernard Jr., who joined the company four years ago, speaks proudly about being part of the Rightway team, especially working alongside his father. He says, “I would always shadow my dad; I always looked up to him and what he did. It was great to be around the construction industry, and I always thought it was very special to see something go from beginning to end. It’s been a great experience.”
Protecting Project Plans
For the most part, Rightway tries to keep big projects to no more than three at any given time, in order to ensure they have the manpower to get the job done right. To support this plan, the company employs anywhere from 10 to 25 team members, depending on current needs. Whether it’s a fancy Manhattan condo, a large mixed-use property or commercial space—such as for a current ice cream factory project—the Rightway crew is ready to tackle every aspect of the plumbing, heating and fire suppression requirements.
Bernard Jr. notes, “We pretty much cover everything from putting the first underground work in to the finishing touches like fixtures.” He adds, “Although we’ve historically done mostly new construction and major repairs, we are now delving more into the service area as well, especially with Local Law 152, which is the New York City mandate for gas inspection.”
Loyalty Runs Both Ways
The attention to detail and high-quality work has resulted in fierce customer loyalty that has sometimes spanned decades. Bernard says, “We have some companies that we’ve been working with for the past 25 years. An example of a large repeat customer is KSK Construction, which has been a satisfied client since 2006. To be honest, any customers that start working with us continue to do business with us.”
Bernard Jr. adds, “We definitely try to keep a close working relationship with any construction managers or contractors that we work with. We’re all about having it done right, so at the end of the day, we want the same thing they want. I think a lot of companies respond to that.”
